Welcome to Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association Inc.  Tamaqua EMS is a Volunteer/Paid association that provides BLS (Basic Life Support) to the Tamaqua Borough and some surrounding communities.  The Station is located in the center of town allowing for easy access to our growing coverage area.  Tamaqua EMS currently provides service to Tamaqua Borough, Rush Township, Schuylkill Township, and Parts of Walker Township.  Tamaqua EMS also responds to other areas as part of what is called "Mutual Aid" to other EMS Services.  These areas include Ryan Township, and West Penn Township.  Tamaqua EMS typically is dispatched to over 1,000 emergencies per year.  We are proud to say that we are still volunteer based and operated with a minimal amount of Paid Staff.  The hiring of Paid Staff was intended to cover busy times of day when many of our volunteers are at their work place and unable to be at the station.
